Louis Daguerre (1787 –1851) fué un químico francés reconocido por su invento sobre el proceso en fotografía llamado daguerreotipo. Daguerre nació en Francia. En 1822, junto con Nicéphore Niépce produjeron la primera fotografía permanente en el mundo, conocida como una Heliografía. Daguerre trabajo junto a Niépce durante tres años y Niépce murio derrepente en 1833. Daguerre anunció el ultimo daguerreotipo a la perfección, después de años de experimentos en 1839 con la Academia Francesa de Ciencias. Daguerre obtuvo la patente por el gobierno francés en 1839 y ese mismo año se anunció el regalo gratis a el mundo.

Louis Daguerre (1787 –1851) was a french artist and chemist, recognized for his invention of the daguerreotype process of photography. Daguerre was born in France. In 1822 Joseph Nicéphore Niépce produced the world's first permanent photograph (known as a Heliograph). Daguerre partnered with Niépce three years later, Niépce died suddenly in 1833. Daguerre announced the latest perfection of the daguerreotype, after years of experimentation, in 1839, with the French Academy of Sciences. Daguerre's patent was acquired by the French Government in 1839, the French Government announced the invention was a gift "Free to the World."
